With Wargaming World Solo now onto its next stage of editing before going to print I realised I’ve got some time on my hands! What next, the tabletop or to paint? In fact I’ve still a number of 4Ground buildings to complete too. I chose a combination.
Sitting in the garage were 30 Boer infantry in desperate need of completion and, armed with Bernard Cornwell’s Waterloo to listen to on Audible I set to work. I’m using the Army Painter Speed Paint series. I’d be interested in your views on what you’ve found with this system. Feel free to drop a line to editor@wargamingworld.net
With the figures well on their way I took to the tabletop and stepped back to August 1914 and set up a Wargaming World Solo attack / defence game between defending Belgian and invading German forces.
It was my first game since I’d fully completed a revision of the draft rules and it produced excellent results. With the Belgians taking up the “Virtual You” role the German attack met stiff resistance and some interesting outputs! You will be able to see the full game as a “How to play” video in the coming days but here’s an image of the tabletop.
What will be your first game of 2024?
All the best, Greg
