Launched in March 2024 by Caliver Books Wargaming World Solo has been my attempt to write a ruleset for the solo player which ensures that you CAN have a competitive game in solo wargaming – against the “Virtual You”.

The ruleset covers any period and has a sufficient amount of depth that the actions of your opponent are unpredictable. This is based by the changing approach, and subsequent actions, of enemy units. I tried to look at a very simple example. In the case of the Battle of Hastings would any wargamer charge down the hill with Harold’s troops after the Norman knights? Of course not. However, as we are fairly sure that they did a solo ruleset needs to reflect this and so here goes!
